Summer Lovin: JULY

So it's been a while since I've blogged...but that's my life for ya! I've decided to split this summer into months to blog about.
On July 1st I welcomed my new niece, Mercedes Nicole Trayner into this life! She is an absolute doll and I felt so loved that my brother and sister-in-law would choose to name her after me. I couldn't believe how much hair she has! She is beautiful. I can't wait to be able to live so close to her!

For the 4th of July I was able to come home! BYU Idaho gave us a 4-day weekend this year which was so nice. Although it was somewhat stormy we were able to have a successful barbeque with lots of yummy food. My mom is seriously the best cook! I made a yummy Mango Avocado salsa which was delectable. Best part: my Dad cut the jalapeno peppers for me! Rachel made a delicious 4th of July cake. Good work, Rach!

Sisterly Love :)

After I came home for the 4th I had A LOT of work to do including some major practicing (yes, Emily, practicing...) and then everything came to a halt when Wednesday afternoon I started to have serious abdominal pain. It was awful. I kind of shook it off and hoped that when I woke up the next morning it'd be better. After getting virtually no sleep, I woke up the next morning and went to the Emergency Room. After 6 hours of blood tests, urine tests, Xrays, a few hours hooked up to an ivy and a CT scan I was absolutely exhausted. It ended up that I have ovarian cysts and had an infection at the same time. I can honestly say I've never been in that much pain. I'm grateful it happened last week rather than the last 2 weeks of school!
After getting some rest, my viola friends convinced me to come to the annual viola retreat in Island Park at Brother Call's cabin. I loved it! We had so much fun. Between about 5 of us we were able to do whatever we wanted! As usual, I really liked to drive the jet ski.

After I came home from the retreat, I played in my friend Amanda's Senior Recital. She did a great job! After that my roommates convinced me to go to a demolition derby. All I can say is...
Idaho+demolition derby=the most white trash thing I've ever done! Haha it was awesome!

FUNNY story:
So my neighbors didn't clean their dishes for clean checks and instead put them in the oven to clean later. Today they forgot they were in there and turned their oven on! It was complete pandemonium when one of them opened it and there was open flames! I came out to see what was going on and new I needed a camera. By far one of the best memories. My friend Mandy fortunately knew how to work a fire extinguisher!

I know July isn't over yet but I know I won't get around to blogging about in later on. In less than 2 weeks I will be vacationing with my family in Hawaii! We are going to Maui and the Big Island. I am so excited! I have one more performance left and 2 juries and many finals and projects due coming up. Keep me in your prayers! I'll need it for juries.
