One of My Favorite Ancestral Stories

So this is a story about my Grandma Criddle-Orr. My mom told me this story over the phone and I thought it was really neat. Hopefully I get everything right!

When Grandma was a little girl, President David O. McKay (he wasn't yet the Prophet) visited her hometown of Driggs, Idaho. At a meeting, Pres. McKay asked for a volunteer. Of course all of the little children raised their hands anxious for him to pick them. Finally, he pointed his finger out into the crowd and said, "How about this little girl with that big, beautiful bow." Grandma looked all around and realized she was the only one with her hand still raised and he was pointing at her! She went up to the stand and he taught about the importance of tithing. He pulled out 10 pennies from his pocket and asked my Grandma to show how much she would pay if she was to pay tithing. Of course she knew the right answer!

This would have been so exciting to have experienced as a little girl. I'm grateful for my ancestors and family members for the examples they have shown me about living the Gospel.
